Miss Universe Botswana organisers, Mos Syde Worldwide Entertainment Group are aiming to make this year's pageant the most glamorous Botswana has ever seen.

The entertainment company said its aim is to make the show more corporate-oriented than entertaining one. The event will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) on June 25 and guests will include industry captains and top government officials.

Botswana for the past six years has not conducted a Miss Universe Botswana pageant resulting in no contestants representing the country in the international arena. Mos Syde Worldwide Entertainment Group have thus taken it upon themselves to revive the pageant by initially engaging the corporate world.  "The idea is to do it yearly and improve it with time," said Safie Sekgwa, the Mos Syde Worldwide Entertainment Group chief executive officer (CEO). In their venture to woo the corporate world, the 16 Miss Universe Botswana finalists are expected to tour different organisations such as the Diamond Trading Company (DTC), the Botswana Tourism Board (BTB) and BEDIA next week in preparation for the pageant. Sekgwa said the aim is to get the contestants prepared as questions asked will be around issues such as tourism, culture, the new Botswana brand and women issues.
