Miss Millennium donates to Moshaneng family

Barely a month before she hands over the crown to someone else, the reigning Miss Millennium, Theresa Hirschfeld will this weekend undertake another charitable act, making donations to the Moshaneng family.

Hirschfeld said she will be handing over household utensils that include a mattress, stove, pots and food to the Moshaneng family that is headed by an old woman who takes care of 24 grandchildren.  Last Christmas she donated groceries and clothing to the same family after she read about their sad living conditions in a local newspaper.

"It was pathetic as they clearly had nothing," said a visibly moved Hirschfeld. When she visited the family in December she discovered that they had no mattress to sleep on and no food in the house. She said she has been assisted by a good Samaritan who made some contributions towards the donation.
