Botswana’s 400 metres athlete, Baboloki Thebe greets delighted young fans at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA) yesterday following Team Botswana’s arrival from London. Thebe was part of the Botswana team that took part at the just-ended IAAF World Athletics Championships. The team included his 4x400m relay teammates, Onkabetse Nkobolo, Isaac Makwala, Nijel Amos and Karabo Sibanda. It also comprised women’s relay team, that was made up of Amantle Montsho, Lydia Jele, Christene Botlogetswe and Galefele Moroko. Despite their efforts, Botswana failed to win a single medal. However, the team arrived to a pleased crowd at SSKIA. The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development held a welcome dinner for the team yesterday in Gaborone PIC: KENNEDY RAMOKONE
