The postponement was necessitated by the fact that the court was not ready with the sentence.

Monato, who is charged with multiple rape offences, said the police are on a mission to kill him using underhand tactics.

Monato recently sustained serious injuries after the car in whicn he was travelling overturned, killing a special constable and an inmate.  The state alleges that Gobuamang Ntsuape, is responsible for causing the accident. Ntsuape faces multiple counts, among them arson, murder and manslaughter. The cases of inmates who were injured in the accident had to be postponed because of health reasons of the injured accused persons. Monato, expressed his fears before Magistrate Kaveri Kapeko saying that he fears to be involved in another car accident.

Said Monato: “I am afraid of boarding police cars. The police have a secret agenda to kill me. The accident that I was involved in recently was planned by the police in order to eliminate me. I am at a loss why this matter is not being finalised.

If I have to come to court frequently, I may be involved in another mysterious car accident. The police are using underhand tactics to kill me.” In Ntsuape’s latest brush with the law, he is charged with two counts of manslaughter and one count of disabling a police officer to cause a car accident. The accident, which happened on December 1, claimed

the lives of a Special Constable Thuso ‘Jah’ Ntusa and Emmanuel Mapholo who was charged with rape.

Ntsuape allegedly caused a Toyota Quantum to swerve out of the road, overturning several times, leaving other occupants with injuries. Ntsuape hogged the media headlines in September when he appeared in court to face a charge of killing Sadi Kgosietsile, the mother of his former girlfriend, Dorcas Kgosietsile.

Ntsuape is also charged with attempting to kill Chief Kgosietsile, Segolame Kgosietsile, Tiro Kgosietsile and Matla Kgosietsile who is his son, on September 13 at Block 9 location.

In addition, Ntsuape allegedly burnt two cars (Mazda and Nissan) belonging to Chief on that fateful day. Police say the accused’s actions were triggered by his sour love relationship with Dorcas Kgosietsile who had jilted him.

In a related development, Magistrate Dumisani Basupi cautioned members of the public not to leave the gallery at the same time when inmates are escorted out of court.

Basupi said he had in the past presided over cases whereby some inmates were tried of being found in possession of dangerous weapons. He said there is a possibility of weapons being exchanged when members of the public leave court at the same time with inmates.

“Members of the public should leave court five minutes after inmates have left the court. A lot of things have happened between the courts and prison recently,” Basupi said.
