Boitekanelo College Enhance Hospital Mobility

Group President and Founding Managing Director of Boitekanelo College, Dr Tiroyaone Mampane, recently joined his team at Princess Marina Hospital to donate 20 wheelchairs to the Ministry of Health.

The wheelchairs are to be distributed to hospitals across Botswana where shortage of equipment was identified. “Looking to expand the scope of our relationship to include more corporate social responsibility initiatives, we became aware of the shortage of wheelchairs that exist at several clinics and hospitals around the country and are responding to an identified need by providing the ministry with twenty wheelchairs,” Mampane said. Boitekanelo College has a long-standing relationship with the Ministry of Health and the rapport has resulted in mutual benefit.

The college trains hundreds of students in auxiliary healthcare, thus contributing significantly to the availability of qualified health care personnel in Botswana. On the other hand, the Ministry of Health provides internship opportunities for students from Boitekanelo College and offers them jobs whenever possible.“We have proudly made this gesture in an effort to strengthen the impact our college has in hospitals around Botswana as well as to build on the existing relationship between the college and the Ministry of Health, which absorbs students and graduates of the college in their respective fields at various health facilities across the country,” Mampane said.
