FRANCISTOWN: Zebras coach, Didier Gomes da Rosa has issued his verdict on new Zebras recruit Brandon Wilson who plies his trade in Vietnam V League 1 for Hanoi FC.

Speaking during a press briefing in Francistown yesterday, da Rosa had nothing but praise for the Gaborone-born midfielder who has Australian citizenship.

The Zebras are in Francistown to play their opening 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Mozambique at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium this afternoon. Some have expressed doubts about Wilson’s credentials. “He's a very good player. He is very strong, mature, and experienced. I thank the BFA a lot for bringing him on board.

I am confident that he will help us a lot in the coming weeks once he has sorted his documents,” said the newly appointed Zebras coach. The 26-year-old midfielder was born in Botswana but moved to Australia at a young age. He has played youth football for Burnley in England. There are reports that Wilson will only be available next year because he is yet to be allocated his passport. Various sources claim that the provision of the passport has been delayed by the fact that the dual citizenship law is yet to kick in.
