Trio finds going tough in 400m semi finals

Collen Kebinatshipi, Bayapo Ndori and Leungo Scotch's 400m Olympic campaign came to an end this evening after they failed to progress to the finals.

Kebinatshipi continued with his brilliant performance at the games, clocking a personal best (PB) of 44.43s in the first heat of the men's 400m semi-final. He finished third in a heat won by Quincy Hall of USA. In the second heat, Bayapo Ndori found the going tough, finishing in position four after recording the same time as Kebinatshipi. Zambia's Muzala Samukonga claimed second position in 43.81 while Kirani James won the heat in 43.78. Leungo Scotch, running in heat three, finished in position seven with a time of 45.16. The heat was won by Matthew Hudson-Smith of Great Britain in 44.07.

For his part, national team coach, Chilume Ntshwarang told Mmegi Online that the athletes worked hard, but they unfortunately they narrowly missed out on the final.
