He beat South Africa’s Boyd Allen by a knock out (KO) in round six of the 10-round clash over the weekend in Sandton. Bagwasi went for the kill with a quick right punch followed by a powerful left hook to the jaw that floored Allen. He stepped into the ring boasting with confidence after pulling another victory thorough a technical knockout (TKO) against another South African, Almighty Moyo in March. The champion has kept a clean sheet since the beginning of the year, a record of six wins. Speaking to SportMonitor, the Minister of Sport and Arts, Jacob Kelebeng said Bagwasi’s win is a great achievement, a proof that he is amongst the best talents the country has. “It means we are slowly but surely occupying our position as one of the best African nations when it comes to sport. All we should do is to support and nurture such talent. We are proud of Bagwasi and looking forward to meeting him when he comes home. We will meet and see how best we can support him going forward,” Kelebeng said.
