The Citizen Entrepreneurship Development Agency (CEDA) has come on board as a sponsor of the inaugural Beyond 40: Stride by Stride Walk, supporting efforts to promote healthier and more productive communities.
Organised by TM Media Consultancy, the walk will take place on September 5 at the Three Dikgosi Monument in Gaborone under the theme, “Every Step Towards Health and Wellness.”
The walk targets adults aged 40 and above, encouraging regular physical activity, healthy living, preventive healthcare and active ageing.
The organisers welcomed CEDA’s support, saying the partnership reinforces the connection between citizen well-being and national development.
“CEDA's decision to support the Beyond 40 Walk is a strong endorsement of the connection between citizen well-being and national development,” the organisers said.
They added that CEDA’s recognition that “empowered citizens must also be healthy, active and productive members of their communities” strengthens the event’s objectives.
The initiative will be led by the Chief Walker, Minister for State President, Defence and Security Moeti Mohwasa.
Participants can choose between 2.5km, 5km and 10km routes. Registration costs P120, covering a walk bib, hydration and finisher’s medal, while the P250 package includes an official event T-shirt.
CEDA’s sponsorship comes as organisers seek greater collaboration to advance wellness and active ageing among Batswana.
