JWANENG: Defending national champions, Gaborone United (GU), sent an early and chilling warning to their Botswana National Women’s League rivals after dismantling Jwaneng Galaxy 4–0 on Saturday. This is despite head coach, William ‘Raizor’ Monene, insisting his side barely scratched the surface of their true potential.

The Red Roses opened their Southern Stream campaign in ruthless fashion at Galaxy Stadium, pulling away in the second half to register a commanding victory that underlined their title credentials in the newly structured women’s league.

The opening exchanges reflected a league still shaking off pre-season rust, with most teams having had limited preparation time. The first half was cagey, short on tempo and clear chances, and ended goalless.
