Eyeing comeback: Shah is reportedly in contact with the Rollers executive PIC: PHATSIMO KAPENG

Record league champions, Township Rollers and its former president, Jagdish Shah remain tight-lipped after ending their near-decade-long marriage on Wednesday.

Shah officially left Rollers on May 31 after the two failed to come to an agreement over an extension. The businessman had demanded 100% ownership of the club but the general membership declined his request. Shah owned 80% of the club while the general membership had a 20% stake.

He had put a take it or leave it for the Popa faithful with the deadline set for May 31. The membership did not accede to the business mogul’s demands and he has since packed his bags and walked out of the Blues’ door. Reportedly, inside Shah’s backpack are the team bus, the players’ accommodation, some of the administrative staff and the club office in Gaborone's Block 10. Shah has financed all these since his takeover in 2015. However, sources claim that Popa has since been put on auction for interested bidders.
