Secretary-general Taolo Tloutsile jumped ship last month and in his place, Irene Ntelamo was co-opted. But Ntelamo did not last long as she threw in the towel this week. BoBA spokesperson, Gaone Motshwanaesi, has now been asked to take over the role and will hold dual positions until the mother body's elective congress in June.
Tloutsile told MmegiSport he resigned for personal reasons, whilst Ntelamo did not respond to inquiries on her decision to leave the post. Motshwanaesi admitted that losing the two members was a concern. "Losing members anywhere is concerning, but there is little we can do more especially in entities like BoBA, where people volunteer their time and skills. We are affected, remember we are a team, to lose a member is more an injury to the team," she said. Motshwanaesi refuted claims of instability within the association, after Ntelamo, in her resignation letter, reportedly cited concerns of an unstable organisation. But president Khunwane was forthright saying although the resignations are not desirable, the departures were "the best thing for the association". "The boxing community should not be worried, rather they should feel a big relief. Some of those who resigned never carried a single assignment as per their position. So resigning was the best thing for the association," he said.
