Push to remove Shah, Zakhem hits hurdle

Some Premier League and First Division clubs had petitioned the BFL demanding a shareholders’ meeting where the issue of removing the two was part of the agenda. The main bone of contention is the move to reduce Premier League teams from 16 to 12 over the next three years. However, there is contestation that the decision was not unanimous with some clubs demanding it be rescinded.
The clubs wrote to the BFL CEO, Senzo Mbatha over the need for a shareholders meeting to discuss the thorny issue. However, Mbatha responded to the clubs indicating requests for a meeting but indicated procedure had not been followed.
