The win takes Systems to the top of the log but remain tied at three points with five other teams. ‘Lefty’ has been part of the Systems technical team that has finished fourth on two occasions when he served as an assistant coach. In the past season, his first in the head coach role, he led the lead to another fourth place finish. The gaffer hopes the weekend’s win would be a morale booster for his side as he seeks improvement from the previous season. Botlhasitse revealed there are no set targets from the club’s management ahead of this season but he needs his side to grow from the previous seasons.
“They do not put me under pressure; they never give me any mandate but individually as a young coach I aspire to grow and do well. So it is one of the seasons where you want to grow from the previous season as you know I am inexperienced in terms of the coaching levels. So I would like to grow from the first one (season),” said Botlhasitse. Systems proved to be a much better side at the start of the Sunday’s tie, enjoying the majority of the ball possession from the first whistle. The rookies were unfortunate to have a first half injury when Tumelo Sentle was subbed off just before the half hour mark and in his place came in Thato Ookeditse. Systems took advantage of the ordeal as Anderson Makolontwana gave the team the lead on the 31st minute. The ‘Alarm Boys’ had numerous of chances before the end of the half but could not increase their lead as they took a slim 1-0 lead into the break. Botlhasitse’s second half substitutions did the business for Systems as the side had two goals from the bench in the half. Ghanaian forward, Emmanuel Agyei struck in the 76th minute to give his side the lead, getting at the end of a excellent move by his side.
