First Division South newcomers, Thamaga Shooting Stars (TSS), are showing flashes of potential in their debut campaign, but head coach Nelson Olebile admits the team’s defensive frailties could undermine their ambitions of becoming a formidable force.

TSS made their long-awaited entry into the league after acquiring City Polar’s status during the off-season. Promotion to the Premier League remains their ultimate goal, but the trainer knows it would not come easy. The Thamaga-based side opened their campaign with a spirited 1–1 draw against former champions, Jwaneng Young Stars, before claiming their first win in a 3–1 triumph over Tlokweng United.

However, their momentum stalled with back-to-back defeats amongst them a 1–0 loss to Notwane and a 3–1 beating at the hands of Dinare FC at the GU Stadium last weekend.
