LOBATSE: Chadibe North FC head coach, Rapelang ‘Raizor’ Tsatsilebe, faces a daunting assignment after suffering a second loss with the club in a 3-1 defeat to BDF XI in a FNB Premiership match played at Lobatse Sports Complex on Sunday.

Tsatsilebe was appointed a fortnight ago by the FNB Premiership rookies who sit second from the bottom and are yet to record a win after seven rounds of elite league action. In their debut season in the top flight, they played to a draw on three occasions and lost four times. Chadibe have only found the back of the net only four times while they have conceded 12 goals thus far. They have conceded more in the last two games under Tsatsilebe than in the first two games. They lost 4-0 to TAFIC in the previous weekend as the Sunday afternoon’s defeat makes it seven goals conceded in the last 180 minutes of league football. In Lobatse, Chadibe was behind as early as the 12th minute when Confidence Senwelo’s cross found Ronald Setshego on the blind spot and the full back nodded in for a goal. It looked promising for the northerners as they were trailing by a single goal at the break. The hosts had better of the chances from the start of the half and Chadibe fell further behind in the match on the hour mark.

On the break, Senwelo bagged his second assist of the tie as he played a low cross for Tshephang Kelebogile who had the simplest touch for his first of the season and BDF’s second on the day. It was 3-0 on the 69th minute as Norris Mwamba captalised from poor defending by the Chadibe defence and slotted from close range. Speaking to SportMonitor after the loss, Tsatsilebe remained hopeful that his side will turn the tables around. “In football you have to be there as a coach whether the team is losing, whether the team is last on the table, there has to be a coach. So I cannot run away from responsibility even if there is a (new) coach coming. So we cannot run away, it is our job, and we know that the team needs to improve. If it does not improve, we will relegate so we need to push until we get there,” he said. Tsatsilebe also highlighted that the league rookies’ building phase has been heavily affected by a thin squad. He said the team misses three foreign players who are yet to be registered while Chadibe also had two local players receiving their clearances late. “We are building but right now we are short of many players and you see we have travelled with one goalkeeper. All the three foreign players are not registered and we also have two locals whose clearances came very late. So we are thin in terms of depth, in terms of width because we do not have that privilege of calling people from the bench. Now we have to use what we have,” said Tsatsilebe.

Depression is real; let's take care of our mental health

It is not uncommon in this part of the world for parents to actually punish their children when they show signs of depression associating it with issues of indiscipline, and as a result, the poor child will be lashed or given some kind of punishment. We have had many suicide cases in the country and sadly some of the cases included children and young adults. We need to start looking into issues of mental health with the seriousness it...
