Former Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) secretary general, Legojane Kebaitse has made a comeback to the athletics body. Kebaitse returns to take up a role as manager-sport administration effective January 5, 2026.

BAA chief executive officer (CEO), Mabua Mabua said Kebaitse brings a wealth of experience in sport administration, athletics governance and information and communications technology (ICT). “Kebaitse has served two terms as secretary general. He is a World Athletics certified referee, a photo finish judge, officiated and managed teams at World Championships most notably in Daegu 2011 when Botswana won its first gold medal,” Mabua said in a statement. In his new role, Kebaitse will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring the implementation of BAA strategic plan, strengthening governance and compliance across the membership, supporting capacity building initiatives, and enhancing sport administration systems to support the sustainable development of athletics in Botswana.
