FIFA gives 13 local referees the nod

The world's football governing body, FIFA has released the names of 13 local referees and assistant referees who will be eligible for international assignments this year.

The list of referees is led by Joshua Bondo and consists of four males and two females. The assistant referees' list consists of five men and two women. Amongst the entire list, Bondo is the most experienced, having been part of FIFA's international referees since 2010. Bondo has done extremely well on the international stage including some tough CAF club competitions and Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He is joined by Keabetswe Dintwa, Tirelo Mositwane and Tshepo Gobagoba as well as two women referees, Itumeleng Methikga and Joyce Tshephe. The assistant referees' list is led by Kitso Sibanda who has been a FIFA international assistant referee since 2014. Others are Lucky Kegakologetswe (male), Ookeditse Keitseope (male), Tilolo Molefhe (male), Mogomotsi Morakile (male), Botsalo Mosimanewatlala (female) and Leungo Tsogang (female).
