The third of the final four teams that will battle for national honours in the DTCB Women's Championship will be confirmed this weekend during the Southern Block playoffs.

Orapa United have, for the first time, booked a place in the final four after clinching the DTCB Women's Championship Northern Block playoffs, whilst Makgabza also reached the finals for the second time with triumph in the Western Block last weekend. The block playoffs have reached the Southern Block with action featuring Gaborone United (GU), Jwaneng Galaxy, Royal Fighters, and BDF XI, starting this evening. The Southern Block is the birthplace for national champions, with previous winners Double Action and GU both from the block. As per the trend, spectators may be watching a potential national champion as the battle for honours nears the climax. The reigning champions, GU, are aware that they are the team to beat once more.

The Red Roses won the Gaborone City Region Football Association (GCFA) Division 1 with ease to book a spot in the playoffs. The team bagged the regional title with three games to spare and finished 13 points ahead of second-placed Double Action. The team plundered in 61 goals while conceding the least across all regions, with just three in the regional league. Gaonyadiwe Ontlametse would be looking for another individual accolade following a blistering goal-scoring record in the league. The forward has found the back of the net 19 times whilst assisting on 13 occasions, making a total of 29 goal contributions in the 12 games. Red Roses' closest competition may be Galaxy as the pair reignites their recent rivalry in the men's game. Under the tutelage of former Mares' coach, Gaolethoo 'Ronaldo' Nkutlwisang, Galaxy met expectations this season to win the Jwaneng Mine Southern Region League. The Galaxy Ladies have a lethal attack of the quartet in the Southern Block contention. Having found the back of the net on 135 occasions in just 18 games, fellow rivals should be worried.
