Double Action kicked off their CAF Women's Champions League COSAFA qualifiers campaign with an impressive draw against Zambia's Green Buffaloes.

'The Star Stripes' were in action on Wednesday afternoon where they played to a 1-1 draw against the reigning champions. The team's captain, Lesego Radiakanyo opened the scores with the fastest-ever goal in the tournament. Radiakanyo headed home the goal inside the first 40 seconds of the game. After conceding, Green Buffaloes made a stealth approach to the game as they enjoyed the lion's share of the ball possession. Their efforts were rewarded in the second half as substitute Siomala Mapepa netted the equaliser in the 50th minute. It is now all-even with a point each in Group A. Double Action's group rivals, Lesotho Defence Force and Ntopwa FC also played to a 1-1 on the day.

The group is well poised with Double Action sitting at the summit. The team will face Lesotho Defence Force at noon on Friday in a bid to secure their first win of the tournament. The two teams met in the 2021 edition as Double Action won the tie 6-0. The local girls will conclude their group stage games on Monday against Ntopwa FC. The top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-final while the winners of the regional qualifiers will secure a berth at the CAF Women's Champions League finals to be played later this year.
