Mochudi Centre Chiefs were merciless as they handed troubled Extension Gunners side a 4-1 defeat in a Debswana First Division South league game played at the National Stadium on Saturday evening.

Gunners had trained for two days ahead of the tie according to assistant coach, Stanley Mwaanga. The boardroom wars are cooking up within the club as media reports suggest that there have been clashes between some members of the club and the sponsor. This is said heavily contributed to the delay in staff payment of salaries resulting in the players boycotting training. Furthermore, Mwaanga is not in head coach, Daniel Nare’s preferred choice. Gunners were behind inside the first 10 minutes as Remmington Masuku gave Chiefs the lead. Phomolo Moahi levelled the matters with a brilliantly taken free kick on the half hour mark.

Magosi were back on the lead on the 37th minute with Adam Tende benefiting from a goalkeeping blunder from Ofentse Tauyatswala. Chiefs led 2-1 at the break. It was a night to forget for Tauyatswala as he fumbled on what looked like an easy save to allow Bakang Leshona to make 3-1 for Chiefs on the 48th minute. The goalkeeper was replaced by Koolopile Tshimologo after he signalled for an injury. The substitute goalkeeper could not deal with a close range attempt by Sphiwe Matlala as he made 4-1 for Magosi on the 57th minute. Mapantsola tried to look for a late goal but they looked more likely to concede than to score.
