TLOKWENG: Premier League new comers, Chadibe FC's debut season looks increasingly set to end in sorrow following the team's another defeat this past weekend.

The minnows' life in the elite league now hangs on a thread after suffering a 2-1 loss to Township Rollers in a game played at the Royal Aria Stadium on Saturday afternoon. With three games left to play, Chadibe now rely on a miracle, hoping that they win all the remaining matches with an avalanche of goals and also pray that BDF XI lose all their remaining games with heavy score lines. The rookies had hoped that BDF XI would lose to Morupule Wanderers on Sunday. However BDF XI managed to collect a point when the two sides played to a 2-2 draw.

Speaking to SportMonitor, Chadibe FC’s head coach, Chris Mwaanza said the season was a learning curve and admitted that the club faced a number of problems in their debut elite league campaign. “We had problems here and there and it is unfortunate that we managed to rectify our problems when it was too late. We just hope that it was a lesson and it is still a lesson. We learn everyday and we just learned some lessons, which we are going to utilise the next time we play our games,” said Mwanza. Rollers opened the scores as early as the seventh minute with Tlotlo Kgaolo’s header from Segolame Boy’s corner kick. Rollers came closer again when Lehlohonolo Fothoane spotted Switberth Kum with a penetrative pass and the striker’s low shot was saved by the keeper while on the other end, Montsi Dichaba was superbly denied by Karamelo Kgosipula from a free kick on the 25th minute. Rollers dominated the half to take a goal lead into the break. Two minutes into the second half, Temo Segopolo laid a pass for Boy who was brilliantly denied by the keeper. The home side doubled the lead on the 55th minute through Boy. Eight minutes later, Melvin Moyo reduced the deficit with a beautifully taken curler from outside the box. Rollers missed a series of chances while Chadibe looked threatening on the counter as the home side bagged a slim win after a busy week at the club.

For patients’ sake gov't, doctors must unite

After weeks of conflict, court battles, and disrupted healthcare services, the promise of talks beginning May 10 offers hope. But this can't be another hollow truce. Both sides must now commit to genuine, good-faith negotiations. The stakes — patients’ lives and public trust in the healthcare system — are too high for half-hearted efforts. The dispute began when doctors, frustrated by what they called 'exploitation' in emergency...
