BDF XI suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of visiting side, Sua Flamingoes in an entertaining Botswana Premier League match played at VTM arena on Saturday afternoon.

The home side wasted several scoring chances in the first half much to the disappointment of head coach, Louis Setshwane who believes they could have buried the game at that time.

Setshwane said they did everything well in the first half, but only failed to do one thing, scoring goals. "Imagine how many goals we could have scored in the first half, perhaps 10. We did everything according to the book in the first half, but maybe we needed luck," he said.

Brandon Chinyani gave BDF XI the lead in the eighth minute, capitalizing on Sua Flamingoes' defensive lapse. The visitors nearly responded a few minutes later, but Keorapetse Ramakgathi's shot hit the upright, much to the relief of BDF XI's supporters. Marius Kotze equalized for Flamingoes in the 26th minute with a beautiful header.

In the second half, Sua Flamingoes had a very good chance to take the lead after Nqobile found himself unmarked inside the box but, his headed effort went wide off the goal posts. Second half substitute, Bame Morwalela gave Flamingoes the lead for the first time in the match with a cool finish. Tendai Nyumasi nearly increased the lead for his side, but his effort went narrowly wide.

Flamingoes' head coach, was happy with the victory and said focus now shifts to preparations for the midweek game against Township Rollers.
