Babitseng off to Harare to take up COSAFA post

On Sunday, Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, Tariq Babitseng, will become COSAFA's youngest president when he takes up the post in Harare. He will also become the second Motswana to hold the position after Ismail Bhamjee, who served between 1992 and 2006.

COSAFA holds its elective congress on Sunday, but Babitseng is unopposed for the position. He will succeed Angolan Artur de Almeida e Silva, who has been at the helm since 2022.

In a recent press statement, the BFA said the occasion marks a transformation for Botswana football.
