Zebras leave for Cameroon

Zebras fans yesterday abandoned their morning commitments to bid farewell to the national team which left for Cameroon en route to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Gabon-Equatorial Guinea.

Business came to a halt at the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA) as the Zebras checked out for Doula, Cameroon, where they will camp for 10 days before proceeding to Gabon. Their first group match is against Ghana on January 24, followed by Guinea on January 28 before rounding up with a tie against Mali on February 1.The Zebras will be seeking to go past the first round on their maiden appearance at the continental showpiece.Coach, Stanley Tshosane, has said he is satisfied with the preparations the team have made.

Tshosane now has an expanded technical team, which includes Dr Rrenyane Dikole, Under-20 coach, Odirile Matlhaku, Oaitse Mathiba (motivational speaker), Billy Mabophiwa (security manager), Sakaeyo Janie (media officer) and Merapelo Mogojwe (translator).
