Zebras in four-nations tournament

The national team, the Zebras, travel to Swaziland early next month to feature in a four-nations tournament billed for Somhlolo Stadium from February 8-10. Other countries scheduled to take part in the event are hosts Lesotho, Malawi and Swaziland.

Having failed to qualify for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Ghana, the four nations have decided to organise a tournament which will enable them to prepare for the 2010 World Cup/African Nations Cup qualifiers which start in June.

Botswana Football Association (BFA) chief executive officer, Tosh Kgotlele said that all the four nations are contributing towards the expenses of the tournament. "Then, we will share whatever is made from the gate-takings. The tournament will help the coach (Colwyn Rowe) to look at some of the players in camp," he said.
