We are ready - Mangope

The coach of the national women softball team, Titeo Mangope believes that though his charges did not play international friendly matches, they are ready for the World Championships in Caracas, Venezuela from June 23 to July 2.

Mangope said they have played friendly games against local clubs and this has helped them to identify weaknesses. The team was supposed to play South Africa in a friendly game. But the South Africans did not honour the fixture.

The team departs on Sunday for Venezuela. Mangope said their previous participation at the tournament should put them in good stead. Botswana first took part in the competition in 1994. This year, Botswana has been put in a tough group with America and China who are ranked second and sixth in the world respectively. Captain, Tshepo Letsholo believes that the team is ready to take on the best in the World.
