Vultures finish third in regional tourney

The national rugby sevens side, Vultures, emerged third in the North Region tournament held in Potchfestroom, South Africa over the weekend.

The event featured South African sides. Vultures lost only two of their seven games. The team was ruthless against South African sides, Klerksdorp and Lions, winning 27-0 and 33-5 respectively.

The tournament is the second of seven the North Region has organised. It featured fancied teams such as the Pumas, Laeveld and the Limpopo Blue Bulls. North Region tournaments are used mostly to identify future South African national team players. The Vultures were competing for the first time at the invitation of the Luipards Rugby Union (LRU).
