Unfancied Matlolela clinches golf title

FRANCISTOWN: It was back to the browns of Francistown Golf Course last weekend when amateur golfers from the Francistown region competed in a tournament sponsored by Peermont-Global and Sedibeng Casino.

At the end of the action, defending champion Peter Podise was nowhere to be seen at the winners' podium after he was dethroned by the fast-improving Mark Matlolela. Last year's runner-up, Dion Frost clinched second position again.

The players were divided into three categories - Division A, B and C.  Division A was for those with handicaps of 0-9 and B was for 10-17 handicaps. Division C was contested by 18 handicaps and above.
