Unattached athletes urged to enter

The Botswana Games' Gaborone district chief de mission, Oaitse Mbaiwa has urged unattached athletes to participate in the annual competition scheduled for December 11 to 19.

Mbaiwa said athletes who are clubless or are not students, should enter the competition, provided they meet the criteria.

He said the decision was taken following the realisation that most athletes are lost after leaving school.
"Most athletes who drop out of school for one reason or another, are discouraged to come forward for selection because they think the games are only open to local clubs and schools.
