Tsholofelo Retains National Boxing Crown

Tsholofelo Boxing Club got P11,000 over the weekend after being crowned national champions for the second year running. The club successfully defended the title in the Keone Mageu national championships on Saturday at the University of Botswana Student's Hall.

Diamond Trading Company Botswana (DTCB) Boxing Club finished runners-up and got P7,000.  Thebephatswa and Francistown Boxing Clubs shared the third position. The amount of money they will get had not been determined by the time of going to press.

It was Tsholofelo's day as their tactician, former boxing national champion, Master Luza was declared the coach of the tournament. Luza walked away with P600. The best bout was the welterweight division fight between Gomotsang Gaasite of Francistown Club and Moabi Mothiba of DTCB. Each boxer pocketed P700 plus traveling bags and boxing boots.
Mothiba was adjudged the boxer of tournament and got P1,200 plus a travelling bag, mouth guard and head gear.
