Troopers inch closer to basketball title

Defending basketball champions, Troopers will see their hopes of retaining the crown glow if they beat fourth-placed Flames in a league match at the University of Botswana (UB) courts on Saturday.

Troopers only need to win tomorrow's game to lift the trophy for an unprecedented 12th time in a row. Second placed Spartans will keep their fingers crossed that their bitter rivals lose, a result that would hand them the title.

Flames manager, Marvin Griffith is aware that his side would finish third irrespective of other results, but he wants the team to end on a high note.
