Tempers Flare At BOKA Meeting

A special Botswana Karate Association (BOKA) meeting held on Saturday in Gaborone degenerated into a war of words between affiliates and the executive committee.

At the end, it was resolved that the committee be dissolved and replaced with an interim leadership. A delegate, Sam Dire accused the committee of turning the association into a ‘cash loan’ as members borrowed themselves money.

He said the committee had to answer for its mistakes before an interim one is appointed.  Dire said he did not support the motion of no confidence on the previous committee. Former BOKA president, Million Masumbika said issues of maladministration were rampant at the association. He said action negative reports about some members of the committee should be investigated.
