Four BTC premiership teams that participated in the inaugural Gaborone City Mayor’s Cup have been paid their dues after enduring a two months wait. The Gaborone City Council (GCC) hosted the tournament through the Mayor’s office in partnership with football publication Spotkick.

The four teams; Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Extension Gunners, Sharps Shooting Stars and TAFIC participated in the one-day football event played at the National Stadium on July 22.

However, the four teams were made to wait longer for payment.  Sharps are set to walk away with P200,000 for winning the cup, Chiefs will receive P100,000 for finishing as runners-up while Gunners and TAFIC pocket P50,000 each as consolation prizes.
