TAFIC hosts Highlanders

Zimbabwean Premier League giants, Highlanders would be in Botswana to face TAFIC in a friendly game at the Francistown Stadium on Saturday.

TAFIC spokesperson Jones Mosweu told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they have decided to invite Highlanders because they want serious match practice before the second round of the Mascom Premier League starts. "We do not have a game this weekend and since we want to keep fit, we decided to call Highlanders," said Mosweu. He thanked Highlanders for accepting the invitation at short notice. He said TAFIC has a strong relationship with Highlanders. Last year, the Zimbabwean side lost 2-1 to TAFIC at a well attended game at the Francistown Stadium.

Mosweu expressed optimism that the Saturday game would give them much-needed exposure since Highlanders is an experienced side. Top dignitaries in the second city would attend the match that starts at 4pm. Mosweu told Mmegi Sport that he is impressed to see foreign teams playing in Botswana.
