The Sports Writers Association of Botswana (SWABO) and Vincent Excellent Tours have signed a transportation deal worth P100,000 over two years. Under the sponsorship, the transport operator will provide transport to sports reporters to different events.

Vincent Excellent Tours director, Vincent Mongati emphasised the need to transport sports reporters in order to broaden coverage of sports events. Mongati said the partnership is an effort to take sports to the people since the game is growing in Botswana.

“We found it important to assist our sports writers with transport in and outside Botswana since they highlighted that transport is a barrier in their field. They are going to use P50,000 per season, through their association. If they want a bus, they have to give us a quotation for the trip, so that we release the transport,” Mongati said. He said if the relationship goes well in future they might extend the partnership, through allocating the reporters a mini-bus.
