Still no premiership action in Palapye

PALAPYE: Soccer fans in Palapye who had thought they would be watching be-MOBILE Premier League football in the 2009-2010 season will have to wait a little longer.

There will be no premiership football in Palapye, at least for this season, after local premiership rookies, Motlakase Power Dynamos were unable to complete their ambitious stadium project on time. Due to the unavailability of a suitable stadium in Palapye, Motlakase have had to play their "home matches" about 150km away in either Francistown or Selebi-Phikwe.

Motlakase chairperson Mangisi Segadimo said yesterday that they had initially thought they were going to play much of the second round at their stadium but that has not been possible. Segadimo said they failed to complete the stadium on schedule because they concentrated their efforts on improving the team's performance and neglected the stadium project.
