Sportspersons ready to vote

The general elections take place when Batswana troop to different polling stations to cast the ballot.

Among those who will be exercising their right to vote is Motsumi Lekone, a local quad bike rider who has taken part in the annual 1000 Desert Race on many occasions.  Lekone has also competed in other events such as the Khawa Bike race where he emerged victorious. “Casting a vote is a fundamental right of every citizen and I will be among those that will exercise this right.

I have registered in the Bonnington South constituency. I voted in the same constituency in the last general elections,” he said. Bonnington South is one of the highly contested constituencies in the country. It pits the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) represented by Abby Chengeta, Botsalo Ntuane of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and Ndaba Gaolatlhe of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).
