Slow start in transfer market

There was little activity at the start of the mid-season beMOBILE Premier League transfer period as most clubs are still to get going after the festive break.

The transfer window opened this week and will close at the end of the month.

Botswana Premier League (BPL) chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi told Mmegi Sport yesterday that there were no confirmed transfers, although clubs are negotiating deals. He said the market is expected to pick momentum in the coming days. He explained that the procedure is that when a club is interested in a player, it must write a letter seeking permission to negotiate with him and that has a waiting period of seven days, which explains the quiet start.
