No reason to celebrate: BCL mine's closure will affect Nico United

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Nico United chairman, Mothusi Taolo says BCL’s closure has scuppered their hopes of securing a sponsor, as the mining town’s sport future increasingly looks bleak.

Taolo said they were close to tying a deal with a BCL supplier but now that the mine is closing, their efforts are up in smoke.

“The agent we had engaged to look for a sponsor has called off the search based on the decision that was made about the BCL mine, though they were so close to wrapping up the process. We are now pondering the way forward for the club,” he said.
