The New Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) chief executive officer, Falcon Sedimo has started work and will be introduced to the media on Monday.

Sedimo, formerly the Director of Sports and Recreation (DRS), is expected to steer the commission on its new path.

BNSC chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng confirmed Sedimo’s appointment who began his duties on Monday. The transformation from the Botswana National Sports Council to a commission was primarily meant to address the duplication of roles as was the case under the present tripartite arrangement, which has the BNSC, the DSR and the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC). The commission came into effect after Parliament approved changes in the Sports Act, which would see the streamlining of sports administration.
