Hosts, Botswana Rugby Union (BRU), has finally secured a place for all matches of the Africa Champions Group 1C tournament to be held in Gaborone from July 22 to 29.

While the tournament was scheduled to be hosted at UB stadium there was confusion as to what was going to happen on the 25th, as the venue was unavailable on the day. Initially the venue was going to be used by the Department of Student Placement and Welfare (DSPW) for registration of new students.

However, BRU president, Bob Lekan told Mmegi Sport this week that they have negotiated with the UB management and have secured the venue for the full tournament. He also said that preparations for the event are at an advanced stage. The team is also in camp and has played Matebeleland of Zimbabwe and Swaziland in friendly matches.
