Rugby cup marred by controversy

The Wharic Park rugby ground became a dispute field last Saturday just as the Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) Knock-Out Cup, which has not taken place in over five years was about to kick off.

The disputes were caused by a disruption in fixtures. Apparently, Hogs B who were supposed to play against 2011 national league champions, Black Rhinos pulled out at the last minute citing a shortage of players as some had been injured whilst some were on camp for the national Sevens squad.

This however meant that Black Rhinos do not play in any game. The second game that was supposed to be between, White Rhinos and league runners-up Hogs A was also cancelled for an unclear reason.
