Coach of the national women's rugby team, Lady Vultures, Shaun Lees has said that he would be quite surprised if his charges fail to finish in the top four of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Women's South/East African Sevens Tournament which Botswana is hosting this weekend.

The tournament, which kicks off at the University of Botswana (UB) Stadium tomorrow at 12pm features eight teams, which have been divided into two pools. Pool A has South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Rwanda.Botswana is in Pool B, where they face Madagascar, Uganda and Kenya respectively. According to Lees, the Vultures should be able to overcome all the teams. He said that they have studied how the Group B opponents play and would adopt a specific strategy for each encounter. Madagascar play a running game just like their male counterparts.

They like moving the ball and do not like making too much contact possibly because of their relatively small frames. Lees said because of this, he would have to diversify the game plan. "You should expect to see players changing positions frequently," he said.
