FRANCISTOWN: Township Rollers donated five percent of their share of gate takings to Kazungula Young Fighters after the two sides clashed in a well-attended Orange FA cup quarterfinal tie in Kasane on Saturday.

This was disclosed by Kazungula chairman, Nlakidzi Sitayelo who also hailed the resilience of his players after his team was narrowly eliminated from the FA Cup by the visitors (Rollers). Popa, as Rollers are lovingly known, won the match by a solitary goal. Rollers’ goal was scored by Mothusi Cooper in the 20th minute.

“In total we earned P140,000 tickets sales. Thirty-percent (P42 000) of the gate takings went to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) for various levies. We then shared the rest of the money with Township Rollers. They (Rollers) were entitled to 60% of the remaining amount (P98,000) but chose to take 55% and we got 45% instead of 40%.”
