The Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) chairperson, Solly Reikeletseng has quit his position in the Botswana Africa Youth Games Organising Committee. Reikeletseng wrote a letter to the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Shaw Kgathi requesting to be released from the committee.

He was the committee’s vice chairperson, operations and venues. Reikeletseng said he wants to work with the committee from the BNSC. “I have asked for permission (from the minister) to be released. He was quick to dismiss reports that there are cracks within the committee that is tasked with ensuring the successful hosting of Botswana’s biggest sports event ever.

“There are no divisions, the committee is working well. I had the most amazing time and cooperation from the committee,” Reikeletseng said.
