Palapye to host beMobile Ke Ya Rona Festival

As part of their fifth year anniversary celebrations beMobile in conjunction with Majestic 5 Hotel will on March 30 host the beMobile Ke Ya Rona Festival in Palapye.

The festival's heavy jazz line-up promises to be a thriller for jazz lovers. Some of the names billed for the show are South Africa's jazz maestro Jonas Gwangwa, Motsweding fm's Douglas Mosadi and Botswana's heavyweights, Ndingo Jowa and Shanti Lo.In a press conference hosted at the Majestic 5 Hotel in Palapye over the weekend, the beMobile General Manger Masego Mathambo said that although beMobile has heavily invested on mobile infrastructure it still remains their responsibility to support and develop other sectors of the economy.She said, "As we celebrate our fifth anniversary, the festival is a worthy sponsorship for beMobile within the Arts, Culture and Lifestyle portfolio".

Mathambo further said that as a condition of sponsoring the event, they would give some of the proceeds from the gate-takings to five local charities.For his part, Vincent Mosimanewakgang, from the event promotion company Urban Motion, said that the festival is a milestone for Batswana promoters and artists who have been given a chance to work with beMobile. He said that the concept of taking the festival to Palapye has great potential more so that it will be bringing the North and the South together in the central region.Mosimanewakgang said that he expects the show that is aimed to cater for a mature audience to be a masterpiece. He said that mature people seldomly get an opportunity to go out and enjoy themselves and the festival is set to ease their sense of privation.It is expected that before the actual show there will be music workshops hosted for local artists to interact with their more experienced South African counterparts.
