One Day cricket tourney kicks-off this weekend

Francistown Cricket Club (FCC), Nyagabgwe Cricket Club (NCC), Francistown Sport and Recreation Club (FSRC) and Phikwe Cricket Club (PCC) will play in the north while Tladi, Shining Stars, Ditlhasa and Southern Rocks will do battle in the south. The top two teams from each region proceed to the semis and the finals to be played on September 7.
Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) fixtures and publicity secretary, Sumod Damodar told Mmegi Sport that they decided to play this year’s tournament in the regions because of time constraints. He said they want to give teams enough time to prepare for forthcoming tournaments. In the north, FCC will start against NCC in Francistown while FSRC play PCC at Phikwe Cricket Club. In the south, Tladi face Shining Stars in Lobatse as Ditlhasa confront Southern Rocks. The first ball in all games will be bowled at 9:30am.
