No Mathata Brings Hope To Botshabelo

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Botshabelo location is the oldest residential area in the copper-mining town and boasts of six football clubs. One of the best known sides from the area is Mosquito (Monang) having had a taste of Premier League football.

But after relegating from the top flight, Monang has disappeared from the soccer radar into oblivion. However, Botshabelo North residents have something to smile about again after No Mathata was promoted to the First Division North this season. Training in a dusty ground just behind the BCL mine, No Mathata has only one thing in mind - to emulate Mosquito by playing in the be MOBILE Premier League.

No Mathata got an injection of P1,000 from the area councillor who is also deputy mayor, Bathaedi Mponwane over the weekend before travelling to Orapa for their first match. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mponwane said lack of finance is killing clubs in the area.
