Nico retain stars

There have been fears of an exodus from Nico after it finished fourth - its best ever - as clubs lure away the stars who made this possible.
Top of the list was Zimbabwean dangerman Master Masitara and his compatriot Master Masiku, who were said to have attracted the interest of big clubs in Gaborone. Masitara finished as the country's joint top marksman with Mochudi Centre Chief forward, Jerome Ramatlhakwana. Masiku was instrumental in the middle of the pack and put on some solid displays for Majombolo.
Whilst celebrating milestones in inclusivity, with notably P5 billion awarded to vulnerable groups, the report sounds a 'siren' on a dangerous and growing trend: the ballooning use of micro-procurement. That this method, designed for small-scale, efficient purchases, now accounts for a staggering 25% (P8 billion) of total procurement value is not a sign of agility, but a 'red flag'.
